A comfortable socket and functional prosthesis often begins with your prosthetic liner. WillowWood released the Alpha Classic Liners to accommodate a wide variety of prosthesis users and applications. The Classic Gel is formulated with mineral oil gel to provide hydration for your skin, as well as allow gel to "flow" and adapt to uneven socket pressures.
The BK (below-knee) version is outfitted with WillowWood's durable Original Fabric that helps extend the life of your prosthetic liner. While the AK (above-knee) version is manufactured with their Max Fabric and provided abrasion resistant protection.
The Alpha Classic Prosthetic Liner is available in both cushion and locking. And offers a unique AK version that offers added protection to the bottom end of the femur with 9mm of Classic Gel. If you replace your current liner please ensure your current liner is 6mm thick for below knee or 3mm thickness for above knee applications.
Below-knee version is offered in 6mm Uniform Gel thickness in the front and 3mm in the back.

Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) material enriched with Medical Grade Mineral Oil Gel
Prior to applying your Alpha Classic Liner make sure your residual limb is clean, dry, and free of any soap residue. Cover any open wounds and non-intact skin with a product similar to . WillowWood states to avoid using any type of animal based lotions or powders on your residual limb or liner. These products may damage your WillowWood Liner.
Invert your WillowWood liner so that the logo is on the inside. Place the end of your liner against the end of your limb. If using a pin lock liner, center the pin attachment on the bottom of your limb. Pay special attention when using the AK version to have the logo positioned along the outside. Carefully roll your liner onto your limb.
***Warning: Do not pull your liner onto your limb. Pulling the liner may stretch the skin and result in an uncomfortable fit and possible skin issues along the edge of your liner. Last, make sure that there are no wrinkles or air pockets between the liner and your limb. Air pockets cause excessive sweating.
Proper hygiene is critical when wearing any prosthetic liner. Your Alpha Classic Liner must be thoroughly cleaned each day and disinfected once a week. Clean the gel side of your Classic liner using lukewarm water and a . Apply your prosthetic cleanser with a clean, soft cloth or sponge.
**Warning: Do not scrub your liner on either the fabric or gel sides.
Rinse your Alpha Gel Liner with water and dry it with a clean and lint-free cloth. Place your Classic Liner on a with the logo on the outside.
Once a week spray the gel side of your liner with and wipe clean with a lint-free soft cloth. Last, rinse any alcohol from your liner with water and dry again using the above instructions.
Do not place your WillowWood Classic Liner on an open wound. If irritation, discomfort or poor circulation occurs, discontinue use and notify your physician or Prosthetist immediately. Do not wear an Alpha Classic for more than 20 hours daily.
This Alpha Classic Liner is not indicated for any amputee who has a skin condition which can be aggravated when covered by a non-porous gel material. The Alpha AK Liner should not be used by any prosthesis user whose residual limb is shorter than 3 inches, unless a secondary AK Belt is used.
